After updating WebGrid 7.0 and WebUI to the latest dll's, our dynamically generated grid was not updating correctly. We finally discovered the last line change was cancelled when clicking on the status bar OR the scroll bar.
i have temporarely reverted to the previous version WebGrid.dll 7.0.7200.304 and Isnet WebbUI 3.0.5000.400.
Is this bug been identified?
I finally figured it out. It was the GAC on my computer which had the latest DLL and not my Bin folder.
I haver removed the assembly in the GAC and placed it in my Bin folder.
I copied all those DLL's to my deployment environment and the issue is now solved.
Could you be more detail regarding this issue? We need to know how to replicate this issue. Currently, our live sample is running well. So, at least we need to know step by step to reproduce this issue.
I managed to create an example to illustrate the problem.
I modifed the sample code BasicInteractions.aspx I took from Intersoft WebUI Studio 2009 R1.
I modified to code so the grid is enclosed in a table.
I modify an existing line in the grid and then click on the grid horizontal scrollbar
After doing that, the RowLostFocusAction and ClientSideEvents OnRowValidate event do not work correctly.
These event will not be called when I click below or above the grid.
For example, if i click on the yellow area below the grid, I should get a popup saying: The selected row has been edited.
This worked fine using a previous webgrid.dll (December 2009).
I tried all recent version, I get the same error.
Can you provide a solution or a fix.
In my test sample, After I edited a cell, click on scrollbar and then click on the outside of WebGrid, the lost focus is not called. But if I edit a cell and click outside of WebGrid, lost focus is called. Is this issue that you were trying to say? If yes, I will forward this issue to our developer teams.
YES! That is the problem. After editing a cell and clicking on the scrollbar, the focus is lost.
This problem was not there with the december Webgrid dll.
I will be glad when this issue is fixed since we had to replace the latest dll with the december version.
Because our clients use the scrollbar intensively, we had reports of data being lost because of this issue.
Thanks and hope for a fast resolution!
Ok, I will let you know when it has been fixed.
Has this problom been fixed???
I am still waiting for the problem to be fixed.
MY teamwork has fixed it although it is not very perfect
I talked to our developer teams. They promised to fix this within this month because currently they focus on another tasks. Is it fine with you? or Do you have some needed in the mean time?Regards,Handy
I met the same problem as Pierre Belanger. But my teamwork has found a solution for it although it seems not very perfect
Thank you for the information. Would you mind to share the information regarding this workaround in this thread?
Since we need this feature, we use a previous version of wegrid (december 2009).
That versions has other bugs but the focus is needed to avoid loosing data.
We will be glad when this issue is fixed.
Yes, we understand. We will try to fix this asap.
The fix is ready. Please try this attached hotfixes. FYI, this is a nightly build. (disclaimer : on). Please let me know any feedback or issues that you found when using this hotfix.
I tested the fix and it works great!
Since this is a beta release, I will continue testing and advise you if I find any issue.
Please Tell me how to use it ?thank you.anyway it does not work~~~
could you Tell me how to use it ?thank you.anyway it does not work~~~
Please follow the instruction in this link.
Hope this helps.
I DO IT BY THE WAY~BUT IT DOES NOT WORK TOO!
Piere has tested the hotfix and can run it well. Perhaps, you have some scenario or sample that still can persist the issue. So, I suggest you to let send us a simple working sample that replicates this issue. With this way, we can investigate your issue.
Also, please do not post with capital letter. We can see all your post in here. So, I think you can post it with normal word. We also apologize if there is any misunderstanding.
The fix works correctly when using my local computer.
However I am unable to install it on our development webserver.
I copied the dll's in the bin folder.
Is something else required to deploy the fix? Do I have to modify my web.config file?
Is it deployment or development?
Yes, it is true that in deployment server, you should not install our product. You only need to copy your project and insert runtime license key in order to deploy. Please ensure you have used the latest assemblies in your project bin folder for the best result.
For further information about deployment, please refer into this link.
I am not sure what you mean by 'you should not install our product'.
We have a valid runtime licence for ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.v7_0_7200 which is already installed on our production web server.
I used the Deployment information in the above link but I still have the same problem.
When I use the Update Manager it tells me the latest WebGrid version is 7.07.7200.403.
The Webgrid fix you provided is version 7.07.7200.406.
I have the same assemblies on my computer as in the deployment server. The fix works fine on my computer when I use it as a Web server but not on the deployment web server.
Should something be included in the GAC on the deployment server?
What should I look for to make it work on the deployment server ?
If it works fine in development, then it should also work fine in deployment server. Please remove all your project bin folder in your deployment and re-copy again from development server. Maybe there is something that you missed. Also, please let me know your deployment environment server details.
hi Pierre Belanger,Could you please give me a printscreen about How to use the dll?I have tried more time but failed!
The printscreen would not help much because you would need to ensure that you use the latest hotfixes. All hotfixes should be applied into your project bin folder. Please remember that you do not only need ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.dll, but you also need ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.Resources.dll. Both of them must to have the same build version. Please recheck the build version one by one. (Right click the file>>properties>>Version). If the issue still persists, please let me know your email address.
I think I found out the issue. The difference with Piere sample is, you did not use MasterPage.I tested that it does not work if the page is not using Masterpage. Please confirm if you also have the similar situation.I will report this to our developer teams. For next time, please help us by sending your simple sample that replicates the issue. With this way, we can save more times in figuring out what caused your issue.
