Sorry for the delay in sending this.

WebGrid doesn’t keep the state of sorted order of records but there is informations which tells whether the grid is sorted or filtered; which sorted order is used (ascending or descending); or which filter type that is applied; etc.

Could you please let us know the goal of your scenario? Would you like to have WebGrid to keep the table structure and layout based on the last state on user?

Hi Yudi,

I am able to move the record from client side using Promote or Demote options.

How will i get the same order row information in server side and also how will i retain the same order if i close and open the page again.

You can try to add a column which stores the row index information. When user click promote or demote button, update the value of the row index information with the new order.

Hi ALL,

we need to have Promote or Demote option for the Webgrid rows.

For example say there are 10 rows and i have selected the 5th row and i clicked on Promote button then 5th row should go to 4th row and 4th row has to come as 5th row.Similary if i select 2nd row and clicked on demote button it should go to 3rd row.

Please advice on how we can achieve this functionality with webgrid and also when i reload the page with the webgrid later it shoud retain the order.
