Colors (Styles) from WebGrid when exporting

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a way to get styles from the grid which has some cells "colored".

What I mean is this:

I have a grid like the one in the picture I attached, with some cells colored red and green.
(This was done in InitializeRow event on the server side).

Now, when I export this grid, I can't seem to find this information (about this red and green styles) on the "e" object passed to my export handler:

Private Sub WebGrid1_Export(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As ExportEventArgs) Handles WebGrid1.Export

Is it even possible to get this data from the ExportEventArgs object?
And if it is, how to get it?

The example on the attached picture was done using v8_0_7200 grid.

slow performance for WebGrid export data

Hi,

I am using WebGrid to display records from the database. I use paging which helps loading data a lot faster. When I do export from the grid onto an excel file, it takes a lot of time, around 4-5 minutes even when there are only 10 records. Has anyone else encountered this problem ? If yes then how should I resolve this ?

Export pdf issue from webgrid

Hi,

I have found so many white space on top, bottom, left and right.

Because of that my text is breaking in 2-3 lines in many columns.

Could you please help me how to remove white space and make column text in one line.

I have attached issue.

Also, can I make change of font size and font family?

Export does not export totals

We have some grids that allow exporting, and have totals at the bottom.

However when we export the grid (say to PDF), the totals are not shown.

Webgrid 8 Support for Excel 2010 Export and Split Data Issue?

Is Webgrid Enterprise 8 capable of exporting to Excel 2010 by default? If it is necessary to write code would you have any samples?

We recently upgraded some of our webgrids to this version and cells with a large number of characters split to a separate row upon export. The character limit for Excel is still ~32K in 2010 and we are under that limit. I noticed that the grid exports to .xls file format and wasn't sure if Excel version could be an issue.

I saw a post that recommended making the column wider in the webgrid so that it doesn't split upon export but that would really spoil the user experience...

Replace Export File Entirely

We have some grids in our application that we've developed a special excel export for. Rather than have a separate button outside the grid to run these exports, I'd like to catch the export event from the grid and just replace the file with a totally different file. That way users can keep using the export button they have been using all along. Is that possible?

Problem Export DataSource

When I try to export data from a WebGrid that it's datasource is a datatable in code behind, it appears the screen that is in atachment.

If I try to export data from a WebGrid whith an aspdatasource (like in demo example), it works.

Can you please, say to me how can I fixed this problem?

Grid export error when groups are created in code behind

We are using WebUI Studio 2009 R2 with all fixes.

We have grid with 10 columns defined on the aspx page. First 2 columns have Visible="false".

In code-behind, in the WebGrid1_InitializeLayout event, 2 groups are created and their ColumnMember are those 2 hidden columns.

When I select Export on the grid, an alert is shown with text - Column "Column1" not found.

I tried to set those columns visible in the WebGrid1_Export :

If I try to export, another alert is shown with text - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

On the other hand, if groups are defined on the aspx page in the <GroupedColumns> section of the grid, everything works fine.

We have around 10+ different pages with grid. Each page has grid that generates groups based on UrlParameter and different UrlParameter values can be between 2 and 8 per page. That means that those 10+ pages wih dynamically generated groups replace between 40 and 60 statically defined aspx pages.

Is there a way to make export work with groups defined in code-behind?
