Context Menu and Tab Key do not work in WebTextEditor

Hello,

The context menu and tab key do not seem to work in WebTextEditor. I tried IE, FF and Chrome, with these two properties enabled in the editor. They don't work.

Please advise how to fix.

HtmlElement unindentified error when using ie11 with document mode 8

Hi,

our current application wide setup is that we force document mode 8, because we expose through 4.0 framwork shell, some old 1.1 framework pages.

And ie8 allowed to modes per pages, standards for new pages and quirks for older ones.

Many texts cannot be customized/translated.

Hi,

Many of the texts used in the WebTextEditor cannot be customized (or in our case translated) through the TextSettings. See the attached files for screen captures of most issues.

Another issue is that while the "InsertTableText" property exists, it's value is only used in the initial title of the insert table popup. Once you select a table layout in this popup (which will replace the text by the dimensions of the table), the title will come back to it's initial value and not the value provided in the property.

A list of the issues which can be seen in the attached images:
All the texts in the color picker (color picker.png)
The message sown when clicking the paste item in the toolbar (paste message.png)
All the text of the actions in the undo and redo menus (undo redo.png)
The title of the insert link callout and it's list of targets (insert link.png)
The title of the insert from web callout and it's list of media types (insert web.png)
The title, insert button, cancel button and templates names of the table designer (table1.png)
The list of alignments of the table designer (table2.png)

As our application can be used in french, we have to be able to translate all the texts of the control, we cannot have any which remains in english.

Rendering issues with IE8

Hi,

Several parts of the WebTextEditor aren't rendered correctly in Internet Explorer 8.

The toolbar is incorrectly rendered, as you can see in the attached file "Metro toolbar from sample.png" which was reproduced at http://live.intersoftpt.com/cs/WebTextEditor/WebTextEditor/MultipleSections.aspx?noframe=1&path=/WebTextEditor/Rich%20Text%20Editor/Core%20Editing%20Features

The insert table popup frmom the toolbar is incorectly rendered, which cause the last two "cells" of the first row to wrap at the start of the second line and so on. This can be seen in the "Insert table.png" attached file.

Context menu problem in Firefox

Hi,

When I try to use the context menu on a table in Firefox (version 25.0), I encouter a bug, where the browser's default context menu is also openned, on top of the WebTextEditor content menu.

WebTextEditor Postback Issue When Published

Hi Team,

I am facing one issue once I have published my website on IIS. When page loads it webtexteditor are coming fine but once there is a postback webtexteditor control is not rendering properly.

I have to change mode from preview and again to design then it’s coming fine

I am using IE8

Can you please help you as I have completed my work and at the last moment this issue is there so your quick response is highly appreciable

WebTextEditor - Feature Request

Hello,

I earlier reported a number of issues related to the use of sections in WebTextEditor in this post.

Now, I have the following feature request:

Can you implement Tab-like presentation of sections in WebTextEditor? - (see attached screenshot, which was taken from WebPad sample)/

Indeed, because sections in the editor only expand (they do not resize to shrink when text is deleted) and do not have individual vertical scrollbars (to allow fixing their height), having more than 2 or 3 sections clutters the textarea of the editor (making it "too busy"); and it becomes difficult to manage the content, as scrolling up and down to find the sections in teh editor becomes excessive.

A tab-like presentation, on the other hand (see screnshot), has proven to be superior with respect to breaking down and managing the content of a large document, in addition to being visually more attractive.

Perhaps you could provide tab-presentation as a second option for us to choose when enabling sections in the editor?

WebTextEditor - Several issues

Scenario

Instead of having 10 instances of WebTextEditor running on the page at the same time, I want to use a single editor, with 10 sections in it to create and structure a document. The document, i.e., the content of the sections, is then saved to a SQL database with a single button click, the content of each section going into a corresponding cell of the same row in the database table. Thereafter, I want to be able to retrieve the saved content from the database back into the sections of the editor for editing. The editor is located in in a WebPane.

Problems when using Sections in WebTextEditor

SpellCheker cannot spellcheck more than 1 section. After that one section is completed, SpellCheker does not catch any other mispelled words in the other sections - (IE; FF; Chrome)
SpellCheker will not spellcheck a section, if that section is collapsed, a javascript wil be raised instead - (IE; FF)
Section does not resize, i.e., does not shrink in height after content is deleted - (IE; FF; Chrome)
Section keeps expanding downward, even without typing anything therein, just by pressing any key on the keyboard - (FF)
Section does not maintain predefined height on page load - (IE)
WebTextEditor does not resize (if height="100%") when browser goes in and out of full screen mode; bottom toolbar and portion of the vertical scrollbar disappear (FF).

The aforementioned issues do NOT occur with the editor if sections are not used.

Therefore, if sections cannot be used reliably in the editor to produce a document as described in the scenario above, I would like to know how to use 10 editors on the page to achieve this scenario without severely impeding performance.

WebTextEditor - Multiple editors - even just two - on same page do not work properly

Hello:

When you place multiple editors, even only two, on the same page, in a container such as WebTab, or divs that you show and hide simultaneously, the toolbars in the editors will not work properly. I have tested this in IE9 and Firefox 15 and 16.

In IE9: only the first editor will display the complete toolbar. The toolbars of the other editors on the page either do not show completely (if standard mode is used, for example) or do not show at all (if Complete or Rich modes are used, for example), until you resize the browser or switch back-and-forth between the view modes at the bottom of the editor. Somebody has previosuly raised this issue here:

This issue does not exist in IE if doctype XHTML is used. But I need to have two editors in WebTab, one editor per tab, in PanaManager; and your PanaManager does not support XHTML.

In Firefox: The toolbars are displayed without problem, but the two editors, which are exactly the same, except for their id, do not have exactly the same size. You can see one of the editors "moving up or down" when switching between the two tabs.

Please provide a fix to ensure that multiple editors work properly when placed in tabs or divs, and regardless of the doctype used.
