That said, as you should have aware, the demands for Silverlight and WPF platforms have declined significantly over the past years. As the result, we received much less feedback from our customers, or from the community itself. In deed, the declined feedback on ClientUI has naturally impacted its roadmap and development. However, this could change with the rise of Windows 10, hoping that the developer community will be interested back in the Windows platform. Btw, on which platform you build the most, supposedly WPF?

With regards to the DevForce installers, I have forwarded your message to our installation engineer. We will reviewif the mentioned DevForce setup file is compatible and usable to be integrated in our installer, and if so, we'll integrate the new installers in the upcoming August monthly release iteration.

We will continue delivering improvements that make impact to our customers instead of blindly creating controls that have little value or demands. We value and appreciate your feedback, so if you have anything in mind regarding specific controls/features that you really wish to see in ClientUI, please drop us a line, and we'd love to hear from you.

Hope this helps.

Client UI Is there a future

Agree...
That's a very disapointing (partial?) list of improvements and still no bug fixes for at least the very old reported problems and no improvements on the limitations from the suite that wasn't seriously taken into consideration.

1 full year and we only saw Retina display support and partial Modern themes on SL. Is this your commitment to "Create. Innovate. Accelerate" in the ClientUI suite?

On the other side, I really find hard to believe that Intersoft as IdeaBlade partner isn't aware they still provide installers for DevForce 2012. How is possible that we as customers can opt to download the setup (currently DevForce-2012-v7.3.0.0-setup.exe) from their site and a partner isn't even aware about it and have a misconception that is distributed as Nuget only?

Even though, that is no real excuse to still force the installation of an old version of DevForce 2010 and have us manually uninstall it to avoid problems for customers who are using the current version.

And for "focused on enterprise-grade features instead of smaller controls which our suite already has very completely". Yes, your suite have a great number of controls but complete? I disagree, there's still a lot of features, improvements and new controls that can be added. Just watch your competition.
Client UI Is there a future

Hi Yiannis,

The list I provided is only some of the backlogs in the past few months. It isn't a 1 year list definitely.

We understand that some customers are looking for the Modern themes which we have provided partially. However, the themes aren't in our top list. The way we work is very focused, we look at areas that are important and ones that create significant impact to developers, and including customer's top feedback.

At the time being, we will be strongly focused on enterprise-grade features instead of smaller controls which our suite already has very completely. If you have specific controls in mind that you'd like to see, we'd be happy to hear from you.

Hope this helps.

Client UI Is there a future

Well this is sad after 1 year you come up with this.

There are tons for reported bugs that you don't do anything.

Your themes for controls are from the 80s.

Your Charting Library has severe limitations and you don't do enchance.

No new controls.

Shall I go oin

Client UI Is there a future

Hello David,

Thanks for your email, feedback, and continuous support.

With regards to the trial email, our system appears to work correctly. Have you checked your junk/spam folder? Please add intersoftpt.com to your whitelist to ensure you receive emails properly from Intersoft.

About DevForce, they no longer provide installer for 2012 version, only the Nuget version. We'll keep in touch with our partner to work on that.

It's not entirely true that we only focused in Crosslight. Many of our customers, our sister companies, and partners, are still using Silverlight/WPF and ClientUI to power their mission-critical applications. We continue to deliver improvements to the existing lineups in this release. However, it's noteworthy to mind that our development is driven from our customers' feedback. We'd love to hear from you what you have in mind -- or need -- with regards to the ClientUI features.

Hope this helps.

Client UI Is there a future

Hello Yianis,

Thanks for your post and concern regarding ClientUI. Despite of Crosslight making the big headlines, we actually include many improvements to both WebUI and ClientUI suite. For ClientUI, most enhancements are done in the data grid and reporting.

Here are some of the noteworthy improvements.

Fix printing orientation when printing report

Improve TextBlock size calculation with justified alignment

Allow parameter with datasource expression

Print semicolon and quote character using scripting

Introduce Indentation for TextBlock

Introduce Inline Scripting for Text Property of TextBlock

Introduce Justified Text Alignment in HTML Mode

Fix Page Orientation Issue When Printing Report

Cannot Export Report to Excel when ExportDataOnly mode is selected

Fix TextWrapping Issue when Export Report to Excel

In the next release, we will be making major upgrade to ClientUI Reporting. Sneak previews on the upcoming features include new charting features embeddable to the report, smart indentations, and rich text block. These are huge improvements that enable developers to author reports as easy as authoring a Word document. We will also ship a converter from Crystal Reports 9 to ClientUI XAML format.

We'll post more information on the roadmap as it becomes available. At the meantime, please let us know if there are specific features that you believe we should introduce.

Hope this helps.

Client UI Is there a future

I agree with Yiannis,

ClientUI seems to be the same, nothing new with the only difference which is the support of Visual Studio 2015. Well, at least it came faster than previous releases, but still pretty dissapointed to only see new features in Crosslight and WPF/SL suit left behind. We are not even seen bug fixes as Yiannis said.

I can't really make a side-by-side file comparison since I wasn't able to get the trial. I'm not receiving an email with the download link and trust me, I've tried several times.

I can also bet the setup is still installing the very old DevForce 2010 and still with no option to not install for customers who already owns the new version.

Anyway, so far it seems that Intersoft is only focused in Crosslight development (you can clearly tell by looking at the frontpage of the site).
Client UI Is there a future

You have to come clean regarding Client UI Roadmap.

Are you developing or not and if yes when is the next release?

You don't fix bugs and you don't communicate.

This is not proffessional!!!
