Unfortunately, a client side function to modify the columnset is not available. However, we attached a workaround, a simpler scenario compared to yours, that will rebuild the ColumnSet structure after each button click in the PrepareDataBinding server side event.

Hi,

I have WebGrid with seven of ColumnSets (Lines of Business), each column set contains 5 columns (Perils), which are the same columns for each column set.

There is also two checkbox lists, one with 7 checkboxes representing each line of business (column set). And one with 5 checkboxes represent each Peril (column in column set).

Based on the CheckBoxList selection I need to be able to show or hide entire column sets (by clicking on the Line of business I want to display), or hide individual columns within a column set (by clicking on the peril checkbox).

Each of the five peril columns appear in each columns set, so if I uncheck the Peril for "Wind", each "Wind" column in every column set needs to be hidden.

Is it possible to do this client side with the WebGrid using JavaScript, I"m not sure if the API supposts hiding /showing columns and or column sets on the client.
